Cheaters don't follow rules - that won't stop them from selling it.

Posted by: anonymous on October 16, 2017

The rules don't say anything about not being able to sell them, donate them, or give them to another family member after the sponsor gives it to you. That would absolutely not be cheating they just don't want the hassle and simply don't care or have control of what you do with your prize after they get it to you.

Posted by: anonymous on October 16, 2017

Oh here we go with the whole "cheaters" thing again.....

Posted by: Beigewood on October 17, 2017

nah Beigewood, I agree that cheaters should be eliminated from contesting. Hopefully the sponsors recognize this, and the technology is there (IP address tracking) to eliminate cheaters. Fairness is a GOOD thing, not something to brush off with "here we go again". I mean, don't you want to win something...and you're not because cheaters are out there.

Posted by: RobO on October 17, 2017

Is this contest a 24 hour one? Is it daily but you have to wait until reach the time you last entered I hate that.

Posted by: anonymous on October 17, 2017

Butterball was my nickname in high school.

Posted by: jkd on October 17, 2017

I just don't see what the cheating comment has to do with the first comment.

And there's a certain" anonymous" that moans about "cheaters" quite frequently on here, to the point that I suspect they are just flat out jealous that others are winning?

I don't think any of us are rooting for the ppl that use weird computer programs to constantly enter contests, or ppl who use 10 different identities etc but I think most of us on here are just average people who like to enter contests!!! I don't automatically think that everyone that wins must be cheating.

Posted by: Beigewood on October 17, 2017

I think that everyone who wins big prizes is cheating, but I am just jealous

Posted by: Darlowe on October 17, 2017

Lolol

Posted by: Beigewood on October 18, 2017

It makes it hard for me to keep entering contests when I know the cheaters are winning.

Posted by: anonymous on October 18, 2017

You can't seriously believe that the only winners are cheaters?

Posted by: Beigewood on October 18, 2017

I have won quite a few contests and I don't cheat. Hang in the there, the wins will come. I have good years and bad but if you give up because of a few bad apples you will never win

Posted by: millettea on October 18, 2017

The longer I enter contests the more I learn to dislike the ones that offer unlimited referrals...i can't understand how some people get a ridiculous amount without cheating or using their blog
BUT I did just win a big one...one of the Cityline September Swag bag daily prizes which was AWESOME!!

Posted by: lncLESLIE on October 19, 2017

Yay congrats incLeslie!!! I don't like unlimited entry or unlimited referral/voting contests so I don't bother with them. I contest mostly every day, win every now and then and I never cheat. I use auto fill if its allowed but that's the extent of my competitive edge!

Posted by: Beigewood on October 19, 2017

Congrats IncLESLIE, nice prize! I agree with Beigewood, I do not like unlimited contests either, and I don't believe in voting contests, very unfair! Entering contests is a hobby, most times you win something small, but every now and then a big prize comes along. I enter for myself only.

24hr

Posted by: millettea on October 19, 2017

Beigewood & lin13 - You took the words out of my mouth.
I find the referral frenzy that has popped up on Contestgirl somewhat pathetic and consider that all these folks are watering down their chances of winning.

Posted by: anonymous on October 19, 2017

Agreed. Most of the time you don't even receive extra entries because it only counts when someone new enters, not someone who has entered 17 times already. I've been leaning towards not using referral links more and more lately. I think it was a good idea but has gotten a bit out of hand,

Posted by: jkd on October 19, 2017

Beigewood, incLeslie, lin13 all good feedback, thank you. Hopefully the long gap in time between wins we are all feeling is due to simply the large amount of new people doing contests these days. Shhhhhh we have to keep it more on the down-low haha. No seriously, I think it is just starting to boom as a hobby since almost everyone now internet at home.
Lastly, hopefully the contest administrators can use technology like IP tracking (so people can only enter ONCE per day) to eliminate cheating. I also like that they are starting to ask for a copy of drivers license to prove your identity. That way at least the person who uses fake names will get caught (not being able to prove identity) and not get the prize....though unfortunately the prize will probably go to waste since they will most likey draw another winner.
This forum is GREAT! I'm glad we can talk about the issues. Good luck to you, and not the liars who enter fake names 10 times/day.

Posted by: RobO on October 20, 2017

I love the dialogue. I really do. Rob0 think you're right that there are a lot more ppl contesting these days because we all have internet at home, so why not! Gone are the days when you would have to actually hand fill a hard copy ballot in the supermarket! (Mostly anyways)
I love the site, love the conversation, Love hearing about peoples wins!!
Good luck to everyone!!

Posted by: Beigewood on October 21, 2017

Beigewood, in one of your comments above, you say use autofill "when it's allowed", but that's my whole confusion...how do you know "when it's allowed"??? I don't think it's in the rules (but I do regularly see in the rules where it says no robotic entry..but don't know what that means either???).
One moe thing, I wonder if the contest ADMINISTRATORS (not sponsors) keep track of who has been winning and toss out the entries from those that have in the past. I do think this happens, especially considering there aren't too many different administrators that sponsors actually utilise. I think they see it...ahh this guy already won in the past so doesn't need another win. Just my thought...what do you guys think??

Posted by: RobO on October 21, 2017

Great to see a conversation thread on here, it's usually just the chain links. I think there are a lot of cheaters, I also think there are a lot of non cheaters, I think that contesting is becoming more popular. You never know when a win will turn up, whether you enter daily, every 2nd day or weekly, someone will win, why not you? Good luck and happy contesting everyone :) Hope to see more of these conversations...it's part of what makes this such a fantastic site.

Posted by: luv2win on October 22, 2017

OK, just tried to enter this, (last entered 20 hrs ago, so 7 pm PDT last night) & it's telling me "Only 1 entry per email, per day". So, now it's timed? Been entering for over a week. Anyone else ?? Thanks for any input!

Posted by: Anne (Anon in Van) on October 25, 2017

I put all my dailies on the 24 hr clock so can't help by trying earlier but from the rules:
There is a limit of one
(1) Entry per person per calendar day between 12:01a.m.ET and 11:59p.m.ET (each, a
Day ) during the Promotion Period.
- lokks like just daily so don't know what is up

Posted by: kbc on October 25, 2017

Anne and kbc I have not received the'only one entry per day' message but I treat this contest as a 24h since millettea posted in the tread (thank you millettea!) Congratulations lncLESLIE :-)
Good luck everyone!

Anne (Anon in Van) - this is happening to me too. This has never been on the 24-hr clock since it started. I will contact via FB.

Posted by: Mary D. on November 12, 2017

It's working now.

Posted by: Mary D. on November 12, 2017

I am still waiting for a reply to my FB query about the 24-hr entry.

Posted by: Mary D. on November 15, 2017

Butterball IT finally came back with a response that the contest was in fact a 24-hr entry.

Posted by: Mary D. on November 17, 2017

Thanks Mary D for following up with an update for us all!
Good luck!

Posted by: paula3kids on November 17, 2017

Actually, I find that I can sometimes enter after 22 hrs. The 24 hr ones drive me nuts, as I usually can only enter them 3 to 4 times per week, as I don't sit at the damn computer all day long !! I do have to go out now & again !!

Posted by: Anne (Anon in Van) on November 18, 2017

anyone win one of the weekly product prizes?

Posted by: Shirley54 on December 5, 2017

on a previous contest I won coupons so I bought like 7 packs of turkey bacon and they won me over from regular bacon you get double the amount and it tastes better way less fat in your mouth !!
