Yes too much but it is a luxury trip. FIrst class airfare, Limousine transportation, luxury hotel stay and personally tailored chef experience.

You could easily do all of that for the tax value though, or I could anyway. It would cost me over $15,000. Depends on what state you live in, I guess.

I live an hour from NOLA. Trust me...it's overrated. And 55k? Sounds like Aaron Sanchez has an inflated ego. But if you're ending and win I hope you have the experience of a lifetime.

I live near NOLA as well. I can drive to his restaurant and eat there and it's relatively inexpensive. Most of this money must be going to flights/hotel rooms.

You can state on your taxes the realistic value of the prize (with proof of average costs) and just pay taxes on that.
