The skylight may not leak - but if you are in an area with cold and snow (like Winnipeg) - the sun melts the snow on the south facing skylight - and the melted water flows onto the cold roof shinges just below the skylight - forming an ice dam - which eventually can cause water to back up into the house. The 'fix' is to use a roof rake to remove the snow from and around the skylight before the ice dam can form. If you wait too long you get to crawl up on the roof with a hair dryer to melt the ice dam.. Ask me how I know this.
