Doesn't it seem odd to anyone that the Red Cross is having a giveaway? I mean, they're a NPO for people who have lost everything in disasters. Should they really be giving money away? Seems sus, like they are data farming in order to sell data and make bigger money. Posted by: IVYPENN on June 2, 2026 |
absolutely they are data farming Posted by: cwtoppi on June 2, 2026 |
The American Red Cross holds monetary contests and sweepstakes, generally as promotional incentives to boost charitable donations or blood and platelet collections. These giveaways must comply with strict state and federal sweepstakes laws, which is why they are usually structured as prize giveaways rather than gambling or lotteries. The Red Cross sets up official third-party campaigns or allows grassroots supporters to host community-based fundraisers that involve contests or prize Posted by: princesaportugu on June 2, 2026 |

Well, the CEO received a compensation package of $1,313.605 last year, so they do have at least $7500 available somewhere. Posted by: Steber1 on June 3, 2026 |
It irritates me that the CEO gets over a mil a year. I don't think anyone who works for a charity should be enriching themselves like that. I always use Charity Navigator to check salaries before I donate. Anyhow that's just how I feel. Posted by: BlueCrab on June 3, 2026 |
