Comments:

WARNING: If you win this promotion, you will be disappointed when the prize arrives. They ran the same exact promotion earlier this year and the actual value of what arrived in the mail was maybe $60 if I was being generous.

Although I did not list my cooler or the "swag" on eBay, several people did and it is priced cheap and not selling.

No doubt most of you will still enter. If you win, you'll remember my post.

Yeah $200 sounds "optimistic" for the prize they describe. If I win I'll figure the
real value if I keep it or donate it to Goodwill if I don't. Thanks for the heads-up

You're welcome. What was even more frustrating was the response I received from Avid Marketing.

"Thank you for reaching out. I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed in the value of the prize. However, you do not need to pay taxes on this prize since it is under $600."

She didn't reply to me after I informed her that she was providing false information and provided the links to educate her. These promotions are created, run and supported by idiots.

Wow!! Seems like a lot of people these days want to become lifeguards without
learning how to swim.

Sweeps2021 I'm laughing so hard..... did you really send that to them ???? lol ! Too funny !

Absolutely. I was excited about a prize package valued at $200 and this is what I received.

This "winner" tried to sell part of the prize package for $29.99 and it ended without selling. I could not find this cooler in any of the sold listings, so I believe he/she just gave up on it. The final item was Host margarita cooling cups. I found them listed on Walmart.com for $19.46. The seller below listed them for $12 and took $8 for them.

I provided this same information when I expressed my dissatisfaction with the prize, so I was further irritated when their only response was false information about taxes. I copied the liquor brand that sells Cuervo and received an auto reply with a case number. They never responded.

Well now I know people will read my warning about this prize package. Providing links to the items in the prize package (if it is indeed the same), caused the ContestGirl website to think this was a r e f e r r a l c h a i n.

That will definitely cause people to click on the comments.

Yes Sweeps 2021, If it sounds a little "too iffy" I generally let it pass by. Been doing that for several years, and that's the reason that why my "wins" are way down from years ago. But also less "junk" wins and less wasted time. Some of the crap I "won" years ago was a little mind boggling. On the upside, the church rummage sales gets my cast-offs ! :-)

Posted by: huricane on April 4, 2024

Same for me huricane. I just dropped off a couple boxes yesterday to a church preparing for their upcoming sale. I'd estimate almost half of it was junk that I won.

We normally do a yard sale or set up at the flea market once maybe twice a year, and it's sad that when you can't even get $1 for the branded swag. Hats "valued" at $20 that I couldn't get $5 for.

It would be nice to get more win notifications, but I know that I'm better off being more selective these days.
